Dettol Banega Swasth India launches ‘Folk Music for a Swasth India’ in Tamil to promote hygiene and health in an engaging way

Dettol Banega Swasth India (DBSI) launched hygiene focused Tamil music album- ‘Folk Music for a Swasth India’ in collaboration with Hindu Tamil Thisai and Gramalaya in Chennai. Composed by James Vasanthan, the album has 5 songs and will be available to Spotify users across the globe starting today.

The music album was launched by Thiru. Ma. Subramanian, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Sh. Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs and Partnerships, Reckitt- South Asia, Shankar V Subramaniam, Chief Operating Officer, Hindu Tamil Thisai, James Vasanthan, Music Composer, Hygiene Music Album, Padma Shri Sai Damodaran, Founder & CEO Gramalaya in the presence of students, teachers, doctors, and parents.

With an aim to encourage a healthy self-care hygiene routine among children, the Tamil Hygiene Music Album has been created emphasizing the best hygiene habits through folk music of Tamil Nadu. The song, ‘Let’s make Tamil Nadu healthy’ is sung by Asal Kolar, ‘Hygiene at School’ is sung by Velmurugan, ‘Hygiene at neighbourhood’ is sung by Antony Dasan, ‘Significance of Handwashing’ is sung by Isaivani and ‘Hygiene at Home’ is sung by Krishaang. Each song is composed to tunes that everyone can hum along to and the lyrics are meaningful. The composition is such that these songs will appeal to audiences across all age groups, including Gen Z and millennials. The songs focus on the key highlights from the Dettol School Hygiene Curriculum which are culturally adaptive.

Commenting on the launch, Thiru. Ma. Subramanian Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu said, “Hindu Tamil Thisai and Dettol Banega Swasth India joined hands and produced an online series - ‘Sutham Sugatharam’ last year. The program sensitised thousands of students, teachers, and parents across Tamil Nadu on the importance of sustained hygiene behaviour for healthy living. In the prevailing situation, there is a need to stress the importance of hygiene behaviour to the people of Tamil Nadu. I sincerely believe that these songs in the hygiene music album will invoke and educate the masses on the significance of hygiene behaviour. My best wishes to everyone who have been a part of this initiative.”

Its uniquely curated songs focus on five key themes: Making Tamil Nadu Healthy, Significance of Handwashing, Hygiene at Home, Hygiene at School, Hygiene in Neighborhood. The lyrics of every song have been composed to emphasize significant messages from the Dettol School Hygiene Curriculum. It is thoughtfully organized with the intention to create hygiene nudges through folk music and build a deeper connection between health & hygiene in a fun way.

Tanishk Bagchi expresses wish to work with Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, and Skrillex someday!

Known for his melodious compositions such as Bolna, Ve Maahi, Tera Junoon, and more, the melodious music producer, composer, singer, and lyricist Tanishk Bagchi has been ruling the hearts of music lovers with his work. Talking about his brand-new song, Taare, Tanishk added, “This song is very close to my heart as it is one the first ever Hindi songs that I have sung and composed. With the growing popularity of independent music, I thought of experimenting and launching this song for my fans. It is a passion project and I feel very proud about the positive response I received from music lovers from all corners of the country for Taare.”

Talking about his first musical memory, Tanishk adds, “My entire family is full of musicians, so I didn’t ever think of music as something difficult. However, the first time when I started playing the piano is when I realised it needs real hard work. I was very na├»ve in the beginning, with the musical instruments. Then I gave a lot of my time and effort to grow gradually.”

“I believe that one quality that a person must possess while pursuing a career in music, especially with regards to the Bollywood music industry, is to be very patient. Because without patience, you cannot win. You have to go back and wait for that one single chance.” Says Tanishk, as advice to all young music learners.

Delhi auditions for MTV Roadies – ‘Karm Ya Kaand’ witness enormous turnouts and fierce competition!

The auditions for India’s MTV Roadies – ‘Karm Ya Kaand’ in Delhi turned out to be a huge success with a massive turnout of aspiring contestants, standing as a testament to the show’s unceasing popularity! The auditions of the much-anticipated season 19, that took place on 15th April 2023 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Complex, Pragati Vihar, New Delhi, attracted youth from all over the city and its neighbouring areas. 

With host Sonu Sood, and the gang leaders Prince Narula, Rhea Chakraborty, and Gautam Gulati, the vibe was electrifying and full of energy. The gang leaders interacted with the contestants and encouraged them to bring out their best! The contestants went through rounds of group discussions, showcasing their strength, stamina, and mental fortitude, and now the shortlisted Roadies will advance to the Personal Interview round!

Gang Leader, Gautam Gulati said “Some time back I was amongst the audience as a hopeful Roadies aspirant, and life has come a full circle where now I’m a Gang Leader, with Prince and Rhea in MTV Roadies - Karm Ya Kaand. Hipi G.O.A.T Season 2: India’s biggest digital singing contest is back with a bang

Hipi, India’s leading short video platform is excited to announce the launch of season 2 of Hipi G.O.A.T., a nationwide digital singing competition, packed with fun-filled, pitch-and-video-perfect challenges. This competition is open to all types of singers like amateur vocalists, semi-professional singers and hobbyists of all ages and styles, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience and potentially kickstart their music careers from the comfort of their homes.

Encouraged by the success of the Hipi G.O.A.T. season 1, which attracted thousands of outstanding singers, the competition this time around is again held entirely online, with participants able to enter by submitting entries on the Hipi app. The 3-month pan-India contest will have a new challenge every fortnight, and entries are accepted, in any Indian language. Joining her in promoting the contest is the last season's winner, Sireesha Bhagavatula, who wowed the judges and took home the grand prize alongside Chirag Tomar. Since her victory, Sireesha’s served off-the-chart hits with ‘Ghodey Pe Sawaar’ and ‘Phero Na Najariya’ of the Qala album released on Netflix, and the Tamil Magnum opus PS1. Being the joint winner of season 1 with Sireesha Bhagvatula, Chirag Tomar's booming voice has become a sensation among the Hipi audience with the recent release of his original, Teri Yaad.

 In this season, with unique challenges every two weeks, 4 winners will be chosen from each region of the country. The 24 winners will get a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and a direct ticket to the grand finale. The mega winner gets to record a music video under the prestigious Zee Music Company label along with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lac. The 1st Runner-up will get the exclusive opportunity to playback for the title track of a Zee TV show. Additionally, the contestants can win Rs. 1000 every day if their entry receives the highest likes from the Hipi audience.

MTV Roadies Karm Ya Kaand brings fan-favourite Prince Narula as ‘Gang Leader’

As MTV Roadies gears up for a new season, with an epic journey of ‘Karm Ya Kaand’, its fandom is abuzz with excitement to know the mysterious three faces that Sonu Sood, the show’s host hinted at recently. Putting an end to all speculation, it has been finally revealed that MTV Roadies alumnus Prince Narula, who was seen as a Gang Leader in previous seasons, will reprise his role much to the delight of all fans! 

The actor and reality show star who emerged victorious on ‘MTV Roadies X2’ and went on to carve a niche for himself as a formidable Gang Leader on ‘MTV Roadies X4’, ‘MTV Roadies Rising’ and ‘MTV Roadies Xtreme’, is all set to take on the mantle yet again. He is known as a tough taskmaster and a fair leader who motivates his team members to give their best.
