ITM University Gwalior Lake City International Film Festival 2017 happening on March 31st

Come March 31st and all roads will lead to the Heart of India into the City of Forts Gwalior where the ITM University Gwalior 2nd Lake City International Film Festival (LCIFF) 2017 is being held. To be held over two days (March 31st & 1st April) at the sprawling ITM University Gwalior campus and ITM Global School, LCIFF 2017 will be bringing in quality films from across the globe to the people of Gwalior for the first time.

Serving as Madhya Pradesh’s premier and upcoming International level Film Festival, the Lakecity International Film Festival (LCIFF) 2017 was founded to showcase Madhya Pradesh as a shooting destination in film making, and aims to exhibit the most captivating and innovative content. Though film festivals have become a regular affair in most countries yet most of them cater only to selected audience as well as entertain the commercially successful film makers and related personalities. However, LCIFF aims to connect the film fans and movies goers with the world, so as to bring about greater understanding of the art of film making.

Supported by ITM University Gwalior and ITM Global School, Hon’ble minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomarji has graciously consented to inaugurate the festival. Breaking all stereotypes, LCIFF's mission is to present quality films from around the world as well as support, recognize and honor indie film makers. With more than 180 films making it to the festival, the best of these films will be showcased here. BAFTA awarded Best Director Film Mantostaan that has travelled to various International Film Festivals across the globe will open the film alongside Ab To Pati Khol Do - A film on Swatch Bharat theme.

Some of the other notable films selected by the selection committee for screening include Indo Australia Sudama The Half Man, A Daughters Dream by Manto Pashupatinath, Rebellious Flower - An Award Winning film on Osho (Acharya Rajneesh) by Krishan Hooda, Rajeev Bhatia's National Award Winning Film Pagdi - The Honour, Murari - The Mad Gentleman, Beyond Blue (Cannes entry) by Zanane Rajsingh, Yaaron Samjha Karo by Dharmesh Pandit and others. In the international category, we have films like Final Project (China), The Third Eye (Mongolia / Thai), Capturing Happiness (Europe), The Eve (Italy), Alastair Tembylton (USA), Imphal 1944 (UK / Japan), September Sketch Book (USA), etc.

In the short film category, we have The Sunflower starring Surendra Rajan, The Magic of Giving starring Vaquar Shaikh (Sarbjit fame) & Shweta Gulati, Sandhya an Awakening starring Anurag Tomar (Prince), Mr. Clown, Ehsaas, Oneker Moddhe Ekjon, Café Irani Chai (Documentary), The Dinner (French), Ramadan in Bhopal by Troy Khan, Washakie (Italy), Selfish and Goodbye, Mayfly (Kashmiri) by Siddhartha Gigoo amongst others.


A celebrity event, it will be not only be attended by directors and film makers from across the globe but also known names from Bollywood including Sonal Sehgal (Radio / Damadamm) and Gauhar Khan (Rocket Singh / Badrinath Ki Dulhania / Ishaqzaade / Begum Jaan as well as the winner of Bigg Boss 7), and Actors like Nirbhay Wadhwa (Hanuman Serial playing the title role), Surendra Rajan (Jadoo ki Jhappi wala sweeper of Munnabhai MBBS), Vaquar Shaikh (Sarabjit),  Saurabbh Roy (Luv Phir Kabhie), Rishi Bhutani (Bolo Raam / Gandhigiri), RJ Mantra (Comedy Circus fame), Rahul Bhuchar and others. Renowned actress Moushumi Chatterjee will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Renowned Novelist Siddhartha Gigoo who was awarded the Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2015 for Asia will also attend the event.

The festival will also organise workshop in the field of acting, direction and personality grooming by renowned director Manto Pashupatinath, International Fashion Stylist and Celebrity Designer Mumtaz Khan, Creative Director Jaya Bhargava, Actor Saurabh Roy, as well as Independent film producer Jenif Matthew Joseph amongst others. These workshops will be entirely Free for youths and aspiring film makers, models and actors to attend. There will be No Registration Charges. However, you have to pre-register as Seats are Limited.

AB & SRK - Two legends, one stage, an unforgettable conversation at the India Today Conclave.

It will be a magical cinematic experience at the India Today Conclave as Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan engage in a never-before conversation at the most-awaited event of the year. The two-day event will also see talented actresses Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, and Kalki Koechlin, show us their depth and range. Karan Johar, director, producer, TV show host, author, will be on the other side of the coffee table for a change, being quizzed, not quizzing.

The Conclave will also touch upon the crucial topic of racial discrimination as actor, designer, WarisAhluwalia, sheds light on living in Donald Trump’s America. With a short movie, ‘Dear America’, he also makes a powerful statement against bigotry and xenophobia.  

The Conclave will also witness the worldwide premiere of short films bySudhir Mishra, Nandita Das, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Ram Madhvani.

That’s not all. In keeping with the theme of The Great Disruption, the Conclave will premiere a VR film produced by Anand Gandhi and directed by SooniTaraporewala, celebrating the spirit of Mumbai.

India Today Conclave is a unique platform where the sharpest minds from across the globe converge to discuss and debate ideas and issues. Taking a break from previous years, the India Today Group's signature event will be held in Mumbai for the first time on March 17 and March 18. ग्वालियर निवासी देख सकेंगे हॉलीवुड और बॉलीवुड फ़िल्में

ग्वालियर में होने वाला है Lake City International Film Festival जो 31 March से 1 April 2017 को होगा , जिसमें दुनिया भर की क़रीब 180 फ़िल्म शामिल है। इनमे से कुछ फ़िल्में चीन, जापान, इटली, अमरीका और जर्मनी से भी हिस्सा ले रही हैं, हिंदुस्तान की भी कुछ चुनिंदा फ़िल्में जिन्हें काफ़ी इंटर्नैशनल अवार्ड्स मिल चुके है जैसे  कि  मंटो पशुपतिनाथ निर्देशित A DAUGHTER’S DREAM,  राजिब बल निर्देशित Sudama The Half Man, राहत काज़मी निर्देशित  Mantostaan और Ek Albela जिसमें की विद्या बालन ने बेहतरीन अभिनय किया है दिखाई जाएँगी। साथ ही साथ दर्शकों को चीन की फ़िल्म The Final Project, मंगोलिया की The Third Eye, इटली की The Eve, अमरीका की Alastair Tembylton और जापान की Imphal 1944 भी दिखाई जाएँगी। 

फ़ेस्टिवल के फ़ाउंडर डिरेक्टर मोहन दास कहते है की उनका इस फ़ेस्टिवल के पीछे ये मक़सद है की मध्य प्रदेश को दुनिया के सामने उजागर करना और यहाँ के कलाकारों को एक ऐसा मंच प्रदान करना जिससे वो अपनी पहचान पूरी दुनिया में बना सके। इस इंटर्नैशनल फ़िल्म फ़ेस्टिवल में शॉर्ट फ़िल्म्ज़ और डॉक्युमेंटरीज़ भी दिखाई जाएँगी जिसका ग्वालियर के निवासी ख़ूब आनन्द उठा सकेंगे। 

चेअर मैन ज़ूरी जयश्री भार्गव जो ख़ुद  मध्य प्रदेश से है उन्होंने बताया कि फ़ेस्टिवल में एंट्री फ़्री है कोई टिकट नहीं है और सभी ग्वालियर निवासी आमंत्रित है जिन्हें फ़िल्म देखने का शौक़ है । दो दिन चलने वाले इस फ़ेस्टिवल में मौशमी चैटर्जी को लाइफ़ टाइम अचीव्मेंट  अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया जाएगा, उनके अलवा काफ़ी फ़िल्म हस्तियाँ भी इस फ़ेस्टिवल में भाग लेने वाली है। 5 लोगों की ज़ूरी फ़िल्मों में से सर्वश्रेष्ट फ़िल्मों को सलेक्ट करेगी जिसको इस  फ़ेस्टिवल में दिखाया जाएगा और इनमे से ही सिलेक्टेड फ़िल्म्ज़ को 1 April 2017 में अवार्ड्स दिए जाएँगे।
