Lake City joins hands with Kalasamruddhi to announce Trish International Film Festival in Pokhara


After successfully joining hands with various International Film Festivals in the past and promoting its event at such festivals, the Lake City International Film Festival (LCIFF) has joined hands with Kalasamruddhi International Short Film Festival (KSISFF) to announce a brand new film festival in Pokhara, Nepal. To be held from 20-22 June 2019, the Trish International Film Festival is a joint collaboration between Qrius Films, Battku Entertainment and Purna Entertainment.

With films projecting over three days, the first edition of the Trish International Film Festival will be held in the picturesque town of Pokhara where filmmakers from around the world will be treated to a broad spectrum of film art and the best of film screenings. An inclusive and spirited festival designed to honor true film artists; apart from films in various competition categories, the directorate is also contemplating screening of best films produced in India and Nepal will be screened under special packages including retrospectives and best of festivals. Special packages like Iran, Azerbaijan, Russian and Turkish films, French short films, films from South East Asia are being organized.

“Providing a forum and a place for showcasing your films, TIFF is a one of its kind International Film Festival where the organizers will be going that extra mile to provide a collaborative platform for filmmakers that brings great talent together, and help launch careers, says Mohan Das, Festival Chairman & Director TIFF.

Team Trish is also set to bring in celebrated juries consisting of several elite actors, eminent film makers and critics from India, Nepal and across the globe to judge the best films across all categories. Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies to the winners are part of the competition in categories like Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Best Short Fiction, Best Animation film, etc. Besides these, technical awards will also be given for Best Cinematography, Editing and Sound Design. Other highlights are the Special Jury award, Best Debut film award as well as Best Actor and Best Actress awards will also be given.

Quoting on this tie up, Ramesh Pawar, Director of the Festival says, “It’s a great honour for us to have a strategic tie-up and announce Trish International Film Festival with Qrius Films and Purna Entertainment. The festival will not only cater to the Short Films section but also has a platform for feature films and documentaries as well. We are going to use this set-up for exchange of ideas and information to make our festival better.”
