Multiplex Association of India sets October 13 date for National Cinema Day

The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) is organizing a 'movie marathon' on National Cinema Day, October 13, in collaboration with cinemas across the country. Moviegoers can participate in the marathon for just Rs 99 per admission. Over 4000 screens, including popular cinema chains such as PVR Inox and Cinepolis, will be part of the event. Last year, the event saw 6.5 million admissions, the highest ever single-day admissions.

In a move that may please cinema enthusiasts, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) in association with cinemas all over the country have organised a 'movie marathon' on the occasion of National Cinema Day, which falls on October 13 of every year. Moviegoers will be able to enjoy and be a part of this marathon at just Rs 99 per admission, the group of cinema operators announced on Thursday.

“This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss, celebrating the incredible success of multiple films at the box office this year. “It’s a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the moviegoers who contributed to this success and an open invitation to those who haven’t yet returned to their local cinema,” the association said.

According to MAI, cinegoers can watch any show of any film on October 13 for Rs 99, excluding the recliner and premium formats. Last year, the association marked the National Cinema Day on September 23, which saw the highest ever single-day admissions of 6.5 million.
