Actor Nandita Das and playwright Mahesh Dattani to act a part of a new international Actor Training Performance Showcase Panel...

Nandita Das, Mahesh Dattani and Subodh Maskara are all set to collaborate with Australia's SDDS Education, University of Melbourne and the elite Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in the delivery of a new Professional 8 Day Training Program for Indian actors in Mumbai.

The high profile professionals have agreed to form part of a panel that will critically evaluate the final performance by a group of select actors chosen to participate in this 8-Day actor-training program.

Prof. Dalip Sondhi (lead acting tutor and director - SDDS) and Ms Geraldine Cook (Senior Lecturer in Voice and Associate Dean University of Melbourne, VCA) will be teaching the actors and directing them towards this final performance of a Mahesh Dattani play.

Following on from the launch of their first Actor Training course with Naseeruddin Shah in Mumbai last June, SDDS Education continue to collaborate with high profile Indian industry professionals in the training of actors.

These courses are primarily designed to identify, nurture and develop the incredible wealth of talent in India and construct international, as well as national, opportunities for the graduates.

Those who display the aptitude will be selected and cast in upcoming productions. The course will take place in Mumbai between the 28th April and 5th May 2014. For further information and to apply go to: www.sddsactortraining.com
