The actor performed to the songs
from Bajirao Mastani and Gunday. If there was any show-stopping performances at
IPL 2016 opening ceremony, it would be Ranveer Singh's act. Yes, his entry was
very weak when he entered the stage wearing cricket gear on a pitch, but the
Bajirao Mastani actor saved the show with his infectious charm and
inexhaustible energy. He danced to the tunes of Vaat lavli from Bajirao
Mastani, Tune Maari Entriyaan from Gunday, Gallan Goodiyan from Dil Dhadakne Do
and others. During Gallan Goodian, he even danced with a few of the audience
members.
By the end of the act, he was
left panting and tired, but that didn’t stop him from engaging the audience and
trying to raise the spirits, especially of the foreign players, who were
utterly non-plussed as to what was happening! He later called upon on stage the
rest of the performers of the evening, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez and
Yo Yo Honey Singh. He also made a cheeky comments on Katrina’s flat stomach, or
‘abs’ as he referred them. He later also called on stage Dwayne Bravo, whose
was the best performance of the evening as he performed to his own song
Champion. On stage, Dwayne again sang the song to which others joined him, and
finally Ranveer brought in the popular Los Angeles based band, Major Lazer.
