Satya Paul presented their
stunning Spring-Summer 2016 collection ‘Cocktails and Dreams’ at the DLF
Promenade Mall, in New Delhi today. This is the latest edition of three
collections designed by the first lady of Bollywood, Gauri Khan, commemorating
the brand’s 30th anniversary in the Indian fashion industry.
Inspired by some of the most
iconic drinks, this vibrant collection creates fantasy on the runway with its bold
hues and beautiful prints rendered on casual and occasional wear separates like
sheer tunics, dresses and fluid sarees. The line juxtaposes the freshness of
colors, prints and silhouettes with delicate lace work and intricate
embroidery. The season is an amalgamation of signature Satya Paul prints infused
into newer fabrics and silhouettes.
The event included an engaging
panel discussion with Nikhil Mehra, COO, Genesis Colors, Ms. Dinaz Madhukar,
Sr. VP & Mall Head, DLF Promenade and Mrs. Gauri Khan that was moderated by
Tanaaz Bhatia, CEO, Bottomline Media. Mrs. Khan also met with customers of the
brand, and signed some of the sarees designed by her for the guests.

Gauri Khan’s graceful style is
reflected through fluid, leisurely separates that are easy to wear, yet make a
bold statement. The collection offers modern, relaxed silhouettes which are
perfect for daywear and dreamy drapes with stylized elements for the evening.
The prints in the collection reflect color gradients and accents associated with
urban cocktail concepts, such as crystalized ice structures and their texture, in
a tryst of classic and electric colors. The collection’s color story is
inspired by the burst of shades seen in the dazzling cocktails; an effervescent
and innovative color palette comprising of a riot of colors ranging from
pastels to fiery cherry reds.
Satins and georgettes remain
essential to the collection with the addition of flat silks. A variety of embellishment
techniques of laser cutting and foiling, with lace, dori and resham embroidery
are skillfully woven into the fabrics.
The collection also includes a
modern range of scarves, ties, pocket squares, bags and clutches. This season
Satya Paul reinvents its accessories with a larger collection of metallic
clutches, printed totes, slouchy slings, messenger, and oversized bags. The SS’
16 range sees a wider variety of Men’s accessories than ever before with the
introduction of slim 4MM and crystallized series of ties, including a special
range of bespoke corporate gifting sets.
The Bridal assortment offers
contemporary silhouettes, keeping ethnicity intact with carefully chosen fabrics
and materials with a striking and opulent color palette is. The collection is a
contemporary spin on the classic trousseau staples with signature Satya Paul
print infusions with lace.
