Ranveer honoured with 74th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar award

After a massive winning spree at all the awards last year for his brilliant performance in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Ranveer Singh was honored yet again with the coveted Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award on Sunday by the legendary singer Asha Bhosle.

Each year, the Mangeshkar clan organizes this award in the honor of the Late Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar to recognize artistes who have created great impact in their respective fields. This year, it was Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranveer Singh who was presented with this prestigious honour for the much talked about biopic.

Ranveer, who was away shooting for ‘Befikre’ in Paris, was all ready to accept this hounour through a Skype call. However, due to a network issue at the venue the actor sent in a video message instead to extend his gratitude.  Speaking on the occasion an elated Ranveer said, "I wish I was there today. I am finding it difficult to describe what it means to me to be recognised by one of the greatest artists of all time. Today, I feel the journey of 'Bajirao Mastani' has been properly fulfilled. I promise to work harder and make you more proud in the future,"

Ranveer Singh also happens to be one of the youngest recipients of this prestigious award and is currently in Paris shooting for Aditya Chopra’s ‘Befikre’ for a four-month long schedule.
