Renowned music director AR Rahman, will be honoured with a grand film
festival in his name to celebrate 30 years of his music career. To be held from
4th-9th August in Chennai and Coimbatore, Inox & PVR will be hosting the A
R Rahman Film Festival in the super talented Oscar-winning composer’s honour.
With his immense talent who changed the dynamics of Indian music, the
Dil Se Re singer thanked his fans and followers for their incredible love and
support on this milestone. He also expressed his feelings through his Twitter
handle and wrote: "Celebrating 30 years of love! Grateful for the
incredible love and support I've received from all of you, near and far. Your
kindness and warmth have touched my heart throughout this journey. Here's to
many more years of cherished memories together."
Sharing the poster of the film festival that will be held in his honour,
the poster read: “AR Rahman Film Festival 4th-9th August. Celebrating 30 years
of India's music legend with handpicked collection of over 15 movies.”
A winner of six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy
Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards and
seventeen Filmfare Awards South, A R Rahman was also conferred with the Padma
Bhushan, the nation's third-highest civilian award by the Indian government.
