Uttarakhand Short Film Festival to happen on 22nd February 2015

The Uttarakhand Short Film Festival which was supposed to be happening on 19th & 20th January 2015 at the Survey Auditorium at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India is now slated to happen on the 22nd February 2015 at the same venue. This festival will be showcasing narrative shorts, documentary, shorts fiction, experimental, animation and the like from film makers all across the glob.

According to G.S.Thapa who is organizing this festival, he aims to bring the film fraternity to Uttarakhand through this festival. This initiative is also to invite makers to shoot their films here; just the same way they are looking at Kashmir these days. “This time we have a special package of Spanish Films that we will be showcasing of which few are going to have their Indian Premiere at this festival.”

Speaking about the films received by now, one of the key members of the organizing committee Devashish Mishra said that they have received many international entries and have also received entries from even Spain, UK, USA and the like. “On the Indian front, we have received entries that also have Bollywood celebs including Parineeti Chopra and Manjot Singh as well as a few have Television celebs in it and will be sure fun to watch. Not only Hindi, but we have received in many regional language films as well,” Devashish said.

Speaking about the festival, Mr. Thapa says: "We hereby extend a warm welcome to all filmmakers to be a part of this initiative and make your presence here, irrespective whether your films have been selected or not. And I would like to thank you all of you in advance for making a point to be here for the festival."

This is the second edition of the Uttarakhand Short Film Festival and will be happening on the 22nd February 2015 at the Survey Auditorium at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. FILMS & TV WORLD is the online media partner to the event and will be present at the festival. Looking forward to see you all there.
