OTT platforms, with their varied content and genres, have become one of the most preferred mediums of entertainment. Churning out content at lightning speed, this week you will see many interesting titles premiering on various platforms. With the perfect blend of movies and TV shows, there’s something for everyone - be it action, drama, romance, comedy, horror or mystery. Bawaal / Amazon Prime Video
A Friday movie release that Bollywood lovers have been waiting for this week is Bawaal. The story revolves around a history teacher Ajay Dixit who prioritises his public image above all else. He ends up marrying a beautiful girl Nisha and travel to Europe for their honeymoon, for the same reason. However, once they reach their destination, the couple face turbulence in their relationship as they learn about World War II and draw references from it. Their world comes crumbling because of Ajay’s flaky personality coming to the forefront.

Trial Period / Jio Cinema
Highlighting the intricacies of flawed families and modern society, Trial Period follows the journey of a single mother named Ana. She manages her world well until one day when things go berserk. Her curious son demands that they get a new father on a 30-day trial basis. As events unfold, the family experiences the development of unexpected bonds and heart-warming love. The film starring Genelia Deshmukh, Manav Kaul, Gajraj Rao, Shakti Kapoor and Sheeba Chaddha, is one of the most exciting new film releases this week among others.

They Cloned Tyrone / Netflix
An American sci-fi comedy film directed by Juel Taylor and stars John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and others in lead roles, the plot follows an unlikely trio that gets involved in exposing a government cloning conspiracy after they experience some odd events happening around them. This is going to be a mind-blowing OTT movie release this week that needs to be on your binge list.

Aashiqana / Disney+ Hotstar
Aashiqana is back with its new season on Disney+ Hotstar. Zayn Ibad Khan and Khushi Dubey are playing the lead roles in this horror and supernatural show. The show will have more twists and turns in its 4th season. The trailer gave us a sneak peek into the complex world of traditions and customs with darkness. ‘Aashiqana Season 4’ is available on Disney+ Hotstar from July 24, 2023.

Asvins / Netflix
If you are in the mood for a spine-chilling horror thriller, then look no further than Asvins - A Tamil psychological horror thriller directed by Tarun Teja. Asvins is set in the world of "black tourism." The narrative revolves around the insatiable thirst for thrill among tourists, who willingly pay to experience the haunting aura of places scarred by tragic incidents. As they embark on a spine-chilling journey it takes them to "the darkest place" - A haunted mansion with a mysterious past. Unknown: Cave of Bones / Netflix
The third entry in this four-part docu-series, Unknown: Cave of Bones, tells thrilling tales of adventure and exploration in uncharted territories across the world. This time it takes you to South Africa, where Paleoanthropologist Lee Berger discovers the world’s oldest graveyard which isn’t human. The interesting thing about this graveyard is that it is a cemetery full of ancient, small-brained, ape-like creatures.

The Deepest Breath / Netflix
An American sports docufilm directed by Laura McGann, this documentary focuses on the heartfelt relationship between champion Italian free diver Alessia Zecchini and world-renowned safety diver Stephen Keenan as they get close over their shared love for the dangerous sport. Bonded by their love for freediving, they attempt to rewrite history with a remarkable feat and brace themselves to risk it all.

Sweet Magnolias season 3 / Netflix
The much-loved show on female friendships returns for a fresh season, with all 10 episodes arrives this week. Centring around three best friends, this romantic drama series navigates their lives, careers and romantic relationships in the small southern town of Serenity. This season sees Maddie grapple with ways to aid Cal and works to clear her emotional pathway. Helen faces problematic decisions about the men in her life, and Dana Sue searches for a way to use Miss Frances’s check to assist the community. To make matters worse, the identity of the tire slasher sends shockwaves through the town.

Justified: City Primeval / Disney+ Hotstar
Justified: City Primeval is a crime drama series based on Elmore Leonard’s book City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit. Timothy Olyphant plays the role of Raylan Givens who is living in Miami ever since he left the hollers of Kentucky. He is working hard to balance his personal and professional life as a part-time father to a teenage daughter and as a US Marshal. However, fate has other plans, and he ends up in Detroit where he meets a violent sociopath Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman. Not only does he have to deal with Wildman, but also his formidable defence attorney Carolyn Wilder.

The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) Season 14 showcases a new group of loud, proud, dynamic, and larger-than-life women thriving in the hustle and bustle of New York City.
