It’s the time to disco on Oprah with Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Salt-N-Pepa, Pat Benatar, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne

The wonderful 70s and 80s gave us rock, hip hop, disco, funk, pop and the greatest songs ever. In the upcoming episode of Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday August 26th,at 9.00 pm on  BIG CBS LOVE viewers will witness history. The diva of the talk shows, Oprah, honors the rock goddesses for their contribution in the world of music.

She starts with legendary singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks, a woman who has dominated the music scene for almost four decades. "If I couldn't sing for people anymore there would be a big hole in my life. At 62, Stevie is still rock and roll's reigning queen—and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Joan Jett has been paving the way for girls who want to rock for 35 years. To keep the audiences enthralled Joan Jett, the rock guitarist performs along with the sensational Miley Cyrus on the evergreen song “Bad Reputation” and “Cherry Bomb”. With 21 albums and an impressive list of chart-topping hits, Joan, now 52, still has plenty of reasons to love rock. Joan doesn't just love rock and roll—it's like a religion to her. "I take it very seriously, and I think that it's important to do what you love," Joan says.

In the '80s, hip-hop music was a man's world...until the all-female rap trio, Salt-N-Pepa, heated up the scene. The hip hop singers Salt-N- Pepa gives a very peppy and salty performance and the audience grooves with them. They also reveal that when they founded Salt- N- Pepa, they were just following their passion, but never expected that it will change the face of hip-hop forever.

Four times Grammy award winner Pat Benatar sings "Love Is a Battlefield," along with young singer and song writer Avril Lavigne. Avril, who highly respects Pat, says "These women paved the way for artists like me, and they were the first women in rock and roll. They had to go head-to-head with other male bands, so they're strong, they're independent, and they’re doing what they love."

Last but not the least disco divas Sister Sledge perform their anthem "We Are Family". Watch Oprah Winfrey Show, BIG CBS LOVE on 26 August, 2011 at 9:00p.m as Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Salt-N-Pepa, Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus join in to sing-along!
