The Aussie BBQ to bring four exciting artists to India at this year’s Bacardi NH7 Weekender

The Aussie BBQ returns for the third consecutive year to the Bacardi NH7 Weekender. Some of the most exciting artists in the Australian music scene today will take the spotlight this November, as audiences get a chance to catch psych-tinged alt-rockers Cloud Control, anti-folk songstress Sarah Blasko, garage-rock act Money for Rope and dance deconstructionists Peking Duk at the Kolkata and Bangalore editions of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender. Music lovers in Mumbai and Delhi also get to witness all four bands at special gigs (free entry!) at Blue Frog in Mumbai and Summer House Cafe in Delhi.

Over the last two years, The Aussie BBQ has brought some phenomenal Australian acts like Karnivool, Jinja Safari, Big Scary and Spoonbill to India for performances at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender and some memorable club sets as well. This year too promises some great quality indie acts from down under.

Only Much Louder CEO Vijay Nair said about the The Aussie BBQ, "Over the last couple of years, we've seen some phenomenal performances by Aussie artists at the festival courtesy The Aussie BBQ. The thriving Australian music scene has produced some incredibly exciting artists who have a global fanbase that includes legions of fans in India as well. We're proud to be able to showcase them alongside artists from India and around the world at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender. They make the happiest festival even happier. "

Cloud Control
Australian indie rockers Cloud Control shot into the global indie music spotlight with their critically-acclaimed 2013 album Dream Cave. They exist in a dreamy, organic soundscape that has earned them much praise and seen them perform alongside the likes of Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend and 2010 Bacardi NH7 Weekender alumni The Magic Numbers.

Sarah Blasko
In her decade-long career Sarah Blasko, a singer-songwriter hailing from Sydney, Australia, has released four acclaimed solo albums (I Awake, As Day Follows Night, What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have and The Overture & The Underscore). Sarah has composed music for film, theatre and dance, and mesmerised audiences with her stunning live shows across most of Europe, North America and Australia. Her most recent album tour for I Awake was her most ambitious, the highlight being two sold out concerts with a 45-piece orchestra at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Sarah is currently writing her fifth solo album and this is her first time performing in India.

Money for Rope
Melbourne’s Money For Rope aren’t just your run-of-the-mill rock band. Having cut their teeth on the live circuit alongside some of Australia’s edgiest groups, the trio know how to ignite that ferocious energy which you only get from an A-grade rock and roll show. Fusing garage grittiness with the rollicking pace of surf rock music, Money For Rope have carved out a great space for themselves amongst other Australian rock and roll bands who have dedicated countless hours to fine-tuning their live shows and records.

Peking Duk
Much like The Aston Shuffle who played the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Pune back in 2012, this electronic duo - made up of Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles - are rising stars in Australia’s well regarded electronic music scene. Their track ‘High’ featuring Nicole Millar has exploded, achieving double platinum status on the ARIA charts and sending their live show ticket sales into a frenzy.
