‘Khazana – A Festival of Ghazals’, a 13 year old celebration of glorious music that brings together country’s renowned ghazal artists is all set to enthral music aficionados digitally. The festival, that is scheduled to take place on the 1st & 2nd August 2014, will be live-streamed across digital platforms of Hungama. Ghazal loving audience can watch the concert on Hungama.com, its native mobile app in the Ghazal Section, Hungama’s official YouTube Channel, Pankaj Udhas’s official FB Page, and Daily Motion India. The concert can also be live-streamed on TATA Sky by its Actv Music subscribers.

The annual charity event is held in support of Cancer Patients AID Association (CPAA) and the Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust (PATUT). To support the noble cause that raises funds for children, ghazal icon Pankaj Udhas along with celebrated artists like Bhupinder and Mitali Singh, Shruti Pathak, Tauseef Akhtar, Talat Aziz, Sadhna Sargam, Sraboni Choudhary, Runa and Neha Rizvi, Suresh Wadekar, Surinder Khan and Pooja Gaitonde will come together for the charity event. To contribute to the cause, Sonu Nigam will be giving a special performance at the concert. Paying a tribute to completion of 100 years of Ghazals in Indian cinema, renowned artist Salim Arif will take the audience through the evolution of Ghazals and Nazms in a special segment, scripted and narrated by him.

Over the last three years, Hungama.com has tied up with the event to help the musical concert reach newer audiences both in India and overseas. The event, featuring Ghazal stalwarts, has been an instant hit in the digital space, which encouraged the organisers and Hungama.com to increase the digital platforms for its distribution.

Speaking on the association, Pankaj Udhas said, “It gives us great pleasure to be associated with Hungama for the Khazana concert. Hungama has been our pillar of support for Khazana over the years. It is through their digital platforms that the concert gets a wider reach and reaches out to music lovers across the globe.”

He further added, “The live streaming of the concert enhances the reach of our initiative and helps us reach out to international audience too. The impact of digital media is so huge, that last year we had requests from people from US and UK while the concert was streaming on Hungama .”

Commenting on the collaboration, Neeraj Roy, Managing Director & CEO, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, said, “It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with Pankajji and the wonderful initiative he undertook several years ago. Today, Khazana is an established global event celebrating Ghazals, catering to a world audience. We have long believed that Indian consumers like to not only listen to music but also watch music. Now with increased broadband penetration, people have the option of viewing their music, and we at Hungama.com will continue to seek differentiated original content like ‘Khazana’ to live-stream to subscribers. I am sure fans of ghazals and music will enjoy Khazana as well as the other upcoming initiatives from Hungama.com.”

Last month, Hungama.com has launched the PRO version of its mobile app, which featured several industry firsts including viewing music videos as well as a caching feature for offline music playback. A pioneer in the digital music industry, Hungama.com has over the last decade been instrumental in several innovations in the space.
